General Appearance: Alexander is a well groomed and incredibly fit young man. His travel clothes are uniform, a sleeveless white hoodie over a black singlet, dark grey pants, black fingerless gloves and black combat boots. He also carries a thick black jacket with purple trimming wrapped around his waist for if it starts to rain or snow. All of these articles of clothing betray his upbringing, as they are prepared for rough environments yet are militaristically clean, with not a single fibre out of place, nor a scuff on his boots. Alexander keeps a combat knife strapped on the inside of his right boot, and keeps a small emergency kit strapped inside his left boot containing a flint, wire and other useful survival gear for a ranger to have. He carries his Pokedex and his Ranger Identification card inside a concealed pocket on the inner lining of his Jacket. Alexander is incredibly well built, with Large toned forearms and legs, and an impressively chiselled six pack. His hair is short and scruffy, with it's wire thin brown strands hanging down in bangs that are level with his dark brown eyes. He wears a constant smile of perfectly straight pearly white teeth that hides his distrust of the world around him.

III. Background Information

Personality: As one would expect from a bush raised aspiring Pokemon Ranger, Alexander is a no nonsense man with thick skin and a strong will. Given that he was raised in a tight knit family of rangers, Alexander was brought up on a strong morale code of honour and Reliability. He sees himself as a warden of nature, whose job is to not only befriend pokemon, but control them when needed, or even kill them if the situation forces his hand. He is a ranger; the thin membrane that stops the wild lands from spilling over and destroying the small towns and cities in the region. Although he is polite to most, Alexander is very untrusting of strangers. Anyone that is not a ranger he looks upon with an air of distrust, as he was raised to believe that the rangers were his only family, being a group of people with a morale structure and code of ethics that stands above those of regular people. Being the last child of the captured or destroyed Brennenburg breeding stocks, Alexander is fiercely protective of Amphion, and is more than willing to kill anyone or anything that poses a noteworthy threat to it's continued safety.

History: Alexander Brennenburg was the first born son of Justine and Christopher Brennenburg, co leaders of the Brennenburg Rangers. The Brennenburg Rangers were and are the largest organization of Pokemon Rangers in western Kanto. The Brennenburgs and their Rangers specialize in managing the wild Pokemon population in Pallet Town, Viridian City, Pewter City and even the Indigo Plateau itself. They control the pokemon population, ensuring that one species is not over farming another, and controlling the more aggressive Alpha Males near civilization through capturing, relocation or in extreme cases, death, preventing them from attacking and killing innocent people. They do the dark work that needs to be done, the work that the pokemon world would rather pretend doesn't happen.

It was into this life that Alexander was born and raised, and like his parents intended, he had every desire to become a Pokemon Ranger himself. As such, from the time he could walk Alexander spent his days living the life of a ranger Trainee. He would spend his days either in the field with his father and mother patrolling the woods around Viridian City or on the Brennenburg estate helping raise the Rangers private stock of exotic pokemon. The Brennenburgs had private breeders, who bred for them several species of Pokemon: Electivires, Magmortars, Garchomps, Charizards, Absols, Greninjas and Dragonites. Each ranger that proved themselves worthy of being part of the Brennenburg Rangers would be given a newly hatched pokemon of their choice from the above list, and would be expected to raise that pokemon to be their accomplice for the rest of their days as a ranger. Alexander was no different, and from the time he was young he knew he too would have to select a pokemon from this stock to raise as his own. As such, he bonded with all the breeding stock pokemon, trying to make his decision years in advance. Initially, he had his eyes set on an egg from his father's Dragonite or his mother's Absol, but he soon formed a tight bond with the elderly Electivire that was once his Uncle's partner. When not studying or practicing in the field, Alexander would help take care of the Electivire and her eggs, a pattern he continued until his 18th birthday.

Alexander's life remained the same until he turned eighteen; field work with his parents in preparation for his career as a ranger in addition to night studies and breeding experience with the family Pokemon stock. He was insulated purely into his own world. His friends were the children of rangers and ranger trainees. His family was not only the Brennenburgs but everyone who called themselves a Brennenburg ranger. They had been there since childhood for him, and they meant the world to him. Finally, the day of much anticipation had arrived. Alexander was to take a trial to earn his position as a ranger. He was presented with a regulation uniform of thick combat boots, dark green pants and a green long sleeved T-shirt with the words Brennenburg Rangers on the left breast. In addition he was given a whip which he hung on the left side of his belt, a short combat knife which he stored on the right side of his belt and two Pokeballs. The first Pokeball was empty, while the second pokeball contained a young Pidgeotto. They were in the middle of a patch of woods Alexander could not identify, as he was intentionally transported while under the effects of Hypnosis. His mother and father informed him that his test was to track a pokemon. Apparently a Leafeon had been spotted in the area. As it was a pokemon species that was not meant to be in this area it was his job to find a trail and investigate. He would know when the test was over.

Alexander immediately took advantage of his pokemon companion, releasing it and communicating with it briefly to explain the situation. Pidgeottos were an intelligent creature with sharper eyes than Alexander and he knew he had to exploit that point. After exploring the area around them, Alexander noticed the tiniest of clues; a leaf that had a strange semicircular patch on it. Upon close inspection, the leaf was not one from a plant, but a pokemon. Leafeon was a grass type, and this was definitely something he had never seen before. Together the pair headed in the direction the leaf was spotted, following clues of animal disturbances; bent twigs, nibbled leaves. After following the track for several minutes, A Seviper dropped from the canopy above between the air. It swung it's tail towards Alexander, who reacted with lightning speed, loosing his whip from his belt and cracking it into the tail. The force of the whip stopped the swing of the tail, and the Seviper let out a roar of pain. While it was distracted, the Pidgeotto launched into it from behind, sinking it's beak deep into the tender flesh of the Seviper's neck. Alexander took advantage of the situation and slit the beast's throat with his survival knife. Seviper were a plague in the district, they were under strict kill on sight orders. After having dealt with the unwelcome guest, the pair followed the trial for another fifteen minutes before arriving in a small clearing. There sat a Leafeon on top of a small nest. His parents stood on either side of the pokemon. After searching the nest his parents had prepared, Alexander was greeted with a large Elekid egg, it's orange and black strips indicative of it's nature. Furthermore the shell was already starting to crack; it was a mature egg! The group stayed there while the egg hatched, and welcomed the young Elekid Amphion into the world. Alexander used the empty pokeball he had been given to capture his new companion, his trial complete.

Alexander and his parents mounted his father's Dragonite and took to the air. After flying roughly ten minutes, Alexander began to recognize the forestland. They were in the northeast of Viridian City's surrounding forestlands. After flying for a few more minutes, the pair saw black smoke billowing over from the horizon. Approaching it, they found that it was coming from their own estate. Brennenburg Manor was on fire! The group landed immediately, and Alexander's parents released all the pokemon immediately, ready for an intense fight. Their eleven pokemon went with them, while Alexander's father's Dragonite stayed behind to guard Alexander and remove him if need be. Alexander and Dragonite followed his parents from a distance, and soon they reached what could only be described as a war scene. Men in black robes with veils covering their faces were battling rangers left and right, and although the rangers were putting up and impressive fight they were clearly outnumbered. Alexander's parents engaged the hoard, but Alexander's attention drifted. Leaving the fray, Alexander, his Pidgeotto and his father's Dragonite travelled around the burning mansion, heading straight for the breeding grounds. Alexander's hunch quickly proved true, as while the rangers were fighting off the attack on the manor, more veiled men were attacking their unguarded breeding pokemon. As the pokemon were all former ranger pokemon, they put up an impressive fight, but the hoard was rapidly overpowering them. Alexander's favourite pokemon, the old Electivire mother was at the front of the hoard, her tendrils snapping violently left and right as she whipped at anyone that got near. One veiled man got too close and Electivire wrapped a Tendril around his neck, snapping it with a sharp twist before tossing him aside. As she did this, a figure that had been watching previously stepped forward, his face veil revealing itself to be bright red unlike the others as he got closer. He withdrew from his belt a single pokeball, from which he released a Salamence. His Salamence tore the old Electivire apart, his teeth bifurcating her effortlessly. The few uncaptured pokemon scrambled as their leader fell, but a hail of pokeballs quickly ended any hope they had at escape.

"PIDGEOTTO, USE STEEL WING!" Alexander roared as he ran forward, his whip in his right and and his combat knife in his left. His loyal Pidgeotto shot forward like a rocket, smashing his wing firmly into the closest enemy it could reach. The man's arm cracked, releasing a thunderous bang. The Salamence spat out a huge blast of fire in response, knocking the bird out of the sky. Alexander tried to recall the pokemon but it was too late; she was dead. He ran on undeterred, but firm hands grasped his back. His father's dragonite grabbed him and took off into the air. Alexander flailed, but the dragonite's grip proved true, and he began to fly back to where their parents were fighting. The Salamence gave chase, however, and soon both dragon pokemon were engaged in an intense airborn battle. They were equally matched in power, however the Dragonite was at a clear disadvantage as his hands were full with the young ranger he was obliged to protect. They spat attacks back and forth as Alexander and his Dragonite fled, but soon Dragonite could no longer dodge. Turning mid-air, the dragonite was hit in the back with a fire blast as it tried to shield Alexander, the attack knocking it out of the sky. The dragon crashed in the middle of the battlefield where Alexander's parents were fighting, their horde of powerful, well rested pokemon having beaten back that branch of attackers. As such, the rangers and their pokemon were able to instantly turn their attacks on the Salamence, who turned and fled back to it's master in disgust. Alexander relayed the information to his mother while his father performed emergency treatment on his dragonite. After being presented with the information Alexander relayed, his mother gave the order. The rangers went into full retreat. The Brennenburg estate was lost, and the handful of survivors and their pokemon fled into the night.

Police officers from surrounding districts and rangers from other families travelled to Viridian City over the following days, but no trace of the mysterious group of bandits that attacked the estate were found. With Eleven rangers dead and over Forty pokemon lost, the Brennenburg Rangers had no choice but to permanently shut down their operations. With no home left to go to and his family of rangers all but destroyed, Alexander decided that he had to find a new purpose in life. He would train his new Elekid, and together they would travel the region, hell, the world if they had to. They would find that red veiled bastard and they would carve his lungs out. Alexander's parents whole heartedly agreed, and they too set off on the same mission. Alexander's father travelled north, while Alexander's mother travelled west to Johto in case they had fled across the border. Alexander on the other hand decided to stay in Viridian for the time being. He'd train his Elekid up and search for any clues that others might have missed. This was far from over. The Brennenburg Rangers would not rest until they had found the men responsible for the massacre and bring them to justice.

Roleplay Sample: Amphion clung to Alexander's left shoulder, his right hand clinging to his trainer's hair for balance. His legs bobbed merrily up and down as Alexander walked along the pavement. "You know, you could walk once in awhile. Lazy." Alexander chastised Amphion teasingly. "Ele! kid kid!" he responded in a high pitched voice, his tiny mouth stretched into a devilish grin. The pair reached the northern border of the town after a few minutes of brisk walking. Directly ahead of them sat Viridian Forest. "Well, you ready for your first real test?" Alexander said with a smile. Amphion leapt off his trainer's shoulder, landing on the ground with a small thud. His shiny yellow fur glistened, the black markings looking like a super Hero's insignia as he charged confidently towards the forest, forcing Alexander to run after him. "HEY, WAIT UP!!"
