Alexander walked... well... limped... towards route four, leaving the eastern exit of Pewter City. His leg didn't hurt anymore thanks to the wonderful treatment the Pokemon centre's blissey had provided, but it still couldn't hold a decent weight. As such, he and Amphion were keeping a slower place than normal. Their two companions rested in their pokeballs on his belt. He had given them names, although he didn't know the Spinarak at all, and had only briefly met with the Eevee. He named the young Eevee Tiresias, while he named the Spinarak Anansi. He had spent a few minutes with the Spinarak in the morning, but it didn't really have a personality. It wasn't hostile, nor was it scared, nor friendly. The only thing he knew about it was that it liked to sit on his face. Strange rat... Still, his intent for approaching route four was more important than his strange spider friend's habits. He wanted to expand his pokemon roster. He considered challenging Pewter gym, but taking on a ground type gym with an Electric pokemon was tantamount to suicide.

(level 8 Treecko, Level 12 Oddish, Level 19 Pidgeotto, Level 15 Snivy, level 8 Pidgey, Level 8 Scyther, Level 8 Marill, level 15 Starly.)

Alexander knelled down and patted Amphion on the head gently "Time to get back in your ball buddy. I wanna give Tiresias a chance to show her stuff." Amphion nodded as he was withdrawn into his pokeball. Alexander took a moment to smile at the Thunderbolt sticker on the top of the ball. Returning it to his belt, Alexander snapped up the ball that sat next to it, tossing it into the air with a flick of his wrist. The ball popped open, dropping the tiny Eevee onto the field at alexander's feet. She immediately approached him, nuzzling his legs with the top of her head affectionately. "Okay, we're going to be doing some combat training today. We're going to be battling wild pokemon. There's nothing to be afraid of, dear. I'm right here and you know I won't let anyone hurt you. If it gets dangerous, Amphion and I will be right there to keep you safe and so-" "MARILL!" The cry of what was clearly a Marill interrupted Alexander's speech. Looking up towards the tall grass that sat in the distance, he saw that the grass was flailing left and right, indicative of a struggle. A small black figure shot into the air from the source of the distrubance, slowing just enough as it paused for Alexander to identify it as a Starly before it plummeted back down towards the same spot beak first. A wild marill fighting a wild Starly. That meant one thing; weak prey for Tiresias. "Come on girl, let's get in there." Alexander said to her, trying to run at first before quickly realizing his stupidity, his left leg giving way and causing him to fall face first into the ground. He quickly recovered however, dragging himself to his feet and continuing his approach in what was now a conservative walk. Tiresias stayed by his side the entire length of the journey, until finally they stepped into the grass. The pair were several feet in-front of the chaos, and from their new vantage point they could see the battle in-depth. "Let them know we're here girl, give them your best growl." As Alexander ordered it, Tiresias summoned her strength, flooding her lungs with air before expelling it violently in a sudden deafening growl. While Tiresias couldn't see properly due to being so small, Alexander's vantage point let him see what was actually going on. The Marill was on his back, the Starly sitting on it's abdomen, driving it's beak into the Marill's chest. The wounds weren't severe, but it was clear the Marill had been caught off guard. On hearing the growl, however, the Starly's head shot up, and as soon as it saw Alexander it took off, flying away for dear life. Clearly it was scared of the stature Alexander presented, or maybe it had had negative experiences with humans in the past. Either way, it meant there was only one target left; a large but wounded Marill.

The Marill exploited the temporary cease fire created by the Starly being scared off to find his feet, and after clutching at a bleeding wound on his chest, he rocked backwards once and then collapsed. as soon as he passed out, he began to snore loudly. Steam began to rise from the wound as it began to rapidly heal. So, this Marill knew rest! "The Marill is asleep, straight ahead of you. Hit him with a tackle, Tiresias!" Tiresias leapt forward confidently, charging as fast as her little legs could carry her towards the sleeping Marill. When it finally came into her sight, she completed one final stride before leaping confidently towards the snoring blue ball before her. On impact, Tiresias dug the claws of her front paws into the soft flesh of Marill's abdomen, her teeth sinking into the Rapidly healing puncture wounds left behind by the now absent Starly. The Marill let out a stiff shriek as her triage state of rest was violently interrupted. The momentum from Tiresias' tackle caused her body to flip itself over when she suddenly embedded herself in the Marill's flesh, and so the pair ended up tumbling over, the Marill beginning to roll violently to shake off whatever it was that was now stuck to her. The Marill's hands wrapped firmly around the body of the Eevee as they thrashed, and it began to apply an intense pressure to the rib cage of the small pokemon, knocking the wind out of it's lun-

Alexander's fist sunk firmly into the top of the Marill's skull, the blow resonating with a powerful CRACK as he protected his young companion from serious injury. The Marill's grip loosened immediately as it rose to clutch it's head, allowing Tiresias to release her jaw and dig her claws out of it's flesh. She reared back and launched at it again, smashing the side of her body against the torso of the stunned and terrified Marill. The Marill flew backwards, smashing it's head against the ground as it was knocked flying yet again, it's eyes rolling back into it's skull as it's consciousness faded. Tiresias leapt at it again, landing on it's torso as she scratched violently at the already present wounds, unaware that the enemy was defeated. "Easy girl, it's over" Alexander said calmly as he lifted her off the Marill and hugged her close for a moment, her feet resting against his chest and her head hanging over his right shoulder. He held her for a moment in this embrace, enjoying the celebration of their first victory when the Eevee let out a sudden yelp of terror. Before Alexander could turn to see what the problem was, something moved sharply across his back, and although the pain had not yet reached him, he recognized the sound of tearing flesh and fabric. Instinctively he combat rolled forward, keeping the tiny Eevee pressed to his chest for dear life until he had created more distance between him and the attacker. Once he had completed the roll he released his grip on her, his hands darting for his combat knife, which he withdrew in a flash. Turning around, he saw a flurry of green flying towards him, his eyes locking on the razor sharp edges of a set of blades. He held the knife in his right hand, and thrust the serrated edge of the blade straight towards the incoming weapon. It cut through the thin weaponized bone, causing the creature that was attacking him to let out a ferocious roar of pain. Now that both it's arms were temporarily immobilized, the bone blades being stuck on the edge of his knife, he took a moment to stare into the eyes of the large Scyther that stood before him.

Tiresias threw herself onto the back of the distracted Scyther, her teeth wrapping around one of it's wings, her body being supported solely by the step that braced it. She shook her body violently, and after a few moments the wing bent at an unholy angle, the stem releasing a horrid CRACK as it snapped, dropping Tiresias to the floor. Releasing the knife, Alexander ducked under the forearms of the Scyther, throwing his right shoulder into it's raised forearms and lifting it off the ground, slamming it down onto it's now broken wing. The force combined with it's violent pulling freed it's bound arms, as the bone around the knife shattered at last. Alexander reached into his right pocket, withdrawing a pokeball which he held in his right hand. As the Scyther began to sit up, Alexander thrust his right hand straight towards the Scyther, smashing the pokeball into it's face. The beast fell backwards before being devoured by the pokeball, it's beaten and battered body helpless to resist the binding force of the ball that claimed it.

Alexander dropped to his knees, the adrenaline beginning to fade from his system allowing the pain from the gash on his back to seep through. He reached out to place his hand on top of the head of the concerned Eevee, smiling softly to her in reassurance as he curled up in the grass, the combination of pain from his torn back and his violently injured left leg overwhelming him. "HEY, ARE YOU OKAY?!" the voice of a young female called out in concern. The patter of two sets of feet charging towards him combined with the concerned cry made Alexander raise his head, only to see a young girl in a skimpy dress and a Houndour running towards him. Tiresias turned defensively towards the Houndour, releasing a sharp bark in defense of her master. "easy, Tiresias. They're friends. And even if they weren't, there isn't much you could do against a Houndour." Tiresias kept her defensive stance, but muffled her growling, instead releasing periodic quiet growls to remind the far larger pokemon that she was not to be toyed with. Suddenly, Tiresias stepped quickly several feet through the grass, her teeth wrapping around something before she began to walk backwards, her mouth clearly supporting something heavier than she was able to lift off the ground. She dragged the combat knife towards Alexander, dropping it in-front of his face in an attempt to arm him so that he would be able to defend himself. "Good girl" he said with a smile as he slid his hand down to claim her pokeball, his hand quickly tapping her on the head with it before she could avoid his movement. He returned Tiresias to his belt, his hand tapping the button on another Pokeball as he did so. Amphion appeared, and stood there concerned as he overlooked the scene. Alexander was not trusting of strangers, and wanted a pokemon capable of defending him present.

While Alexander laid on his stomach, the girl knelled beside him, her hands gliding a needle and thread gracefully through the large gash. Amphion stood on the opposite side, his electrodes silently sparkling as he built up electrical current to fight off any potential attackers. The Houndour sat beside his trainer, watching with interest at the scene that was unfolding. "How the hell did this happen, kid? You need to be more careful..." she chastised him with a tone that bled concern and anger together flawlessly. Still, Alexander was not one to suffer criticism gladly, especially ignorant criticism. "Kid? I'm probably older than you are. Besides, even if I weren't, I'm not reckless. I'm Alexander Brennenburg, a certified member of the Brennenburg Rangers. Let's see how well you handle it if you get blindsided by a Scyther that attacks YOU rather than your pokemon." the girl remained silent as she continued her work, clearly either bothered by his words or having realized how if the roles were reversed she'd be lying in the same position he was, if not a far worse one. "There. All done." Sitting up, Alexander stretched his back briefly, feeling that the stitches were in-fact well done and not liable to break easily. "You've done this before." he stated casually as he reached down to remove his survival kit from his left boot and return his combat knife to his right. Opening the kit, Alexander removed a tiny plastic bottle, shaking loose three small tablets which he swallowed dry before returning the bottle to his kit and his kit to his boot.

Alexander and the young girl shook hands briefly, Alexander and Amphion turning to return to Pewter City while she and her Houndour ventured towards Mt. Moon. "By the way, the name's Jennifer Hazelton. Cya round, Brennenburg." She said with a smile before disappearing into the distance. Alexander on the other hand returned the pokemon centre briefly, having his pokemon treated before travelling to a nearby hotel. He paid cash up front for a single room for two weeks, and quickly retired to his room. He'd need to sleep off these injuries before he could face the path again.

Finding His Shin [Training] [Closed] Empty

(WIP)

Two weeks later...

Alexander stepped back onto the road towards Mount moon. He took a moment to stretch himself out, enjoying the freedom in movement that had been given to him by simply taking the time to recover. The damage to his Shin dealt by the Beedrill incident was now completely healed, and the slash left on his back by his encounter with the Scyther he had captured was almost completely healed, with the pain and impairment to his movement and reaction time completely removed. He ran with a renewed speed straight into the tall grass, confident in his ability to face the world better than ever befor- Alexander fell face first, his left foot hooking on an object and causing him to tumble down. Rolling over quickly, he looked to see that had tripped over a ... Treecko?! No wonder he hadn't seen it, the tiny grass pokemon camouflaged perfectly. It scrambled to get to it's feet and ran off the road away from Alexander, darting towards a tree before scurrying up it's face. No way in hell was he going to let that prize escape! Alexander bolted to his feet, tossing himself after the pokemon. He scrambled up the tree as best he could, following the Treecko up into the canopy. The Treecko sat on the end of one of the highest branches, a long piece of hay hanging out of his mouth casually. Alexander tossed himself towards the oblivious pokemon, who managed to notice him just in time to leap to another branch, narrowly avoiding Alexander's grasp. tossing the first pokemon he could grab straight towards the Treecko, Amphion's Pokeball smashed into the back of the Treecko's head, knocking him out of the tree. Amphion materialized on the ground beneath the tree, standing baffled as a Treecko fell from the sky before him. "GRAB IT!" Alexander roared towards Amphion, who grabbed the Treecko's tail, pulling him in with both hands before smashing his body into it's back, pinning it to the ground with his body.

Alexander scrambled out of the tree, taking the Treecko from Amphion and holding it in his extended arms. It flailed in an attempt to free itself, but Alexander's grip proved stronger. "You are a fantastic specimen. Rare and full of energy. I'm definitely taking you." Dropping the Treecko, it turned to run, but only managed to travel a couple of feet before an empty pokeball pelted it in the back of the head, devouring the pokemon in a flash of red light. It shook twice before stopping, Amphion retrieving the ball and handing it to his trainer, who stashed it confidently in his pocket. "Well... that was interesting."
